Beautiful!!

You have to see these awesome quilts that my mom and aunt made! We had Cameron's birthday party on Saturday and I was completely amazed by the great gifts that were given.
My aunt made this one for Cameron. We had a pirate themed birthday party so she came up with the idea to make him a treasure hunt quilt. The second picture shows that under the X on the bottom left corner is a treasure. It was so creative!! On the back corner, it says: Cameron's treasure 1-09.
Then to my surprise (my mom never even hinted that she was making this!) my mom made Cameron a quilt with all of our family members on it. It's really nice because you can switch in and out pictures. Cameron LOVES looking at the pictures of everyone. We had to take Chris' sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew's picture at the party to put on it because my mom didn't have a picture of them. At the bottom of the back of the quilt it says, "This quilt was lovingly created for Cameron Max Porcaro in celebration of his 3rd birthday! January 22, 2009 Love, Gramma Roxie" This is something that will treasured always!!

Happy Birthday Cammie!!

Grandma Irene's birthday

We had Grandma Irene over for her birthday on Friday! Cameron and I made her a birthday cake (it's suppose to be a lion even though the kids thought it was Sponge Bob! }: Grandma and Cameron had a great time together! They played while I made dinner and who knows what Chris was doing!

We sang happy birthday to her and Cameron helped her blow out her candles.

Cameron really liked the cake! Can you tell??

End of summer?

I don't want the summer to end yet!! I don't think I ever want summer to end. I'm sure Chris has a different feeling, by now he's ready for a break from lawns. He loves to be home in the winter hanging out with Cameron (and I think he likes me too!). Here are some of the reasons that I don't want summer to end.

1. I love to take Cameron outside to play in the backyard with NO COAT and he LOVES to play in the water.

2. I love the kids being home!! They came with to Green Meadows and did lots of other things with us too!!
3. Anthony's baseball games

4. Chris' softball games

5. Trips to the Zoo especially feeding Bo!!

6. Fun events outside with Racine Family Club!

7. Trips to the beach. We went to the beach to collect rocks today and Cameron even put his feet in the water! These are things that I love, we didn't plan on going to the beach but spontenously (sp) went today and had a BLAST!!! I love being able to just go and follow whatever we want to do for the day!!

Great America

What a fun day!! We went to Great America with church yesterday and had a blast! Who knew that an amusement park could be relaxing. It was hot and sunny and hot and hot and hot but we didn't let that stop us. The kids went with their friends to all of the big rides and we (Grandma Roxie came with us) took Cameron on rides. He's only 2 1/2 and he trucked it the whole day! We took him on big rides (The Whizzer) and he also got to enjoy the little kids rides too. Chris took him on some of the little kids rides! It was cute! Grandma had fun riding with Cam too.

We went to my cousin's graduation party at my Uncle Vico's house last Sunday! Here's a picture of Chris, Cam and Ray riding on the golf cart. Chris had a blast driving the golf cart around and around and around. Of course, he was ready to buy one. I'm not sure where he thought he was going to drive it. He told me around the neighborhood and I said what a wise investment (NOT!).

Here's a picture of Uncle Vico, Kaitlyn and Cameron! I've got some great memories of my Uncle Vico's farm. He use to be a vegetable farmer and we would go and help at his vegetable stands sometimes! We even got to go out and pick vegetables too. I wish the kids got a chance to do simple things like that! I know I've said this before but if I could I'd love to live in the 1800's when life was much, much simpler! I know it sounds crazy but just think of how easy life would be. Once you give it some thought, you might even agree!

When life slows down

I love when we can actually just be home! This is especially true when it's night time. When we have these relaxed nights, I know why I love my life so much!! The kids were in the pool and Chris was sitting on the deck watching while I made dinner. I decided that we'd have dinner outside since the kids would be wet. It was a little chilly out so the kids needed lots of towels to keep warm but it was fun! I've been trying to make more homemade meals and with the help of some friends, I've started to accomplish this.

After dinner, we just stayed outside and played! Chris went in the shed to get something and he found a mouse (gross) inside of my seeds. Thank goodness I didn't open it to get more seeds for the bird feeder because I would have freaked out. Of course, Cam wanted to see so sticks his head right inside and wants to pick it up. We told him that he doesn't want to be picked up and would like to stay in the bucket. I asked Chris very nicely to please close the container which he did (thanks Chris). I turn around and there's Cameron kicking the bucket. We had to explain that it isn't very nice to kick the bucket and distracted him.

We decided to finally cage my tomatoes! My garden looks awesome! Thanks to Chris, of course! I couldn't do anything without him. He is my rock! I found the cutest tiny toad in the garden and showed it to Cameron. He was happy to look at it but wouldn't touch it. I'm not sure why considering he'd touch a mouse but not a tiny toad. Oh well!

Well that was our adventure for tonight! After that it was time for bed and Cameron wanted to take the Toad "Kermie" to bed with him. Chris and I told him that "Kermie" liked sleeping outside and needed to be near his family.

Trip to Mall of America

We just got back from Mall of America! It was an interesting trip to say the least but I definitely learned a lot about our family. We went with my parents, sister, niece and all of us. We spent a lot of time together as an immediate family but I definitely feel like I would have liked to spend more time with my parents. There priorities are a lot different since my niece was born but that's life. The kids went out trick or treating and we took Cameron around the neighborhood. He did a good job; he even put on his costume! What a sweet giraffee he was! He really liked seeing Grandma Irene (Chris' mom) and Nala (the neighbor's dog). Grandma Irene is such a great lady! I'm so happy that she puts us first and almost always makes us a priority. She really loves her grandkids and it shows.
